There are two ways to share your story with us: the Black Settlement Survey and the Share Your Story survey. The Black Settlement Survey is specifically designed for members of a freedom colony community or descendants of freedom colonies to share their story. In contrast, the Share Your Story survey is for members of the wider public who know about the presence or histories of freedom colonies and want to share this information. The purpose of these surveys is to add data directly to the Atlas.
